PADI First Aid for Divers

The chances are, the more you dive, the more you'll want to dive in remote areas, as that is where most of the good diving is.

That is why it is a good idea to have knowledge of basic first aid. The medic/first aid course is not only for divers but also non-divers as it does not specifically look at diving emergencies. It will provide you with some of the medical capability and knowledge used by doctors.

The course consists of a one-day classroom session. Topics covered include Primary Assessment, CPR, Obstructed airway, Control of bleeding, and Injury Assessment.

Once completed the medic first aid certificate is valid for two years. It is also a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course.
