Paul's rules - while at Aquanaut...

Rules for: Divemasters | Students | Shore Cover | Equipment

Paul's rules - while at Aquanaut...

When at AQUANAUT you may find the following rules in force! The instructor is the person who you should look up to at all times.

  • All jokes as told by your instructor should be greeted with loud laughter, this includes any SICK jokes.
  • An instructor may be used to tow a student on a dive so that the student may complete all dives without getting too tired.
  • A student should never buy the instructor or divemaster any alcoholic drinks as this may encourage drunk diving.

Divemasters

  • Divemasters are there to provide tea/coffee for the instructor. They are available for carrying cylinders for refilling and to save the students and instructor from becoming too tired.
  • A Divemaster should hang on every word the Instructor says.
  • Dive masters are always willing to assemble your kit should you wish to socialise before a dive.

Student

  • A student is the only person an Instructor may swear at.
  • They should be put in their place as soon as possible and not allowed to outshine the Divemasters in any skills they have to perform.
  • Any questions they have should be answered with "you should have read your manual".

Shore Cover

  • The person responsible for shore cover should be well treated by the Instructor, Divemasters and students alike.
  • They are the ones who will retrieve your weight belt when left at your vehicle, fetch your hood or gloves when you decide it is too cold for you and will keep records that most people fail to remember to write down.
  • They should never be sworn at, ridiculed or bollocked for any reason.

Dive Equipment

When borrowed from instructor:-

  • Dry suits make ideal mats to stand on when wet.
  • BCD - When inflated make ideal seats.
  • Fins make ideal bats for ball game during surface intervals.
  • Weights ideal for placing behind car wheels when brakes fail.
  • Computers should be ignored when bleeping or lights are flashing.
